Flynn brings more than 30 years of financial services industry experience to Associated Bank. Previously, he held the position of vice chairman and chief operating officer of Union Bank in California. During his nearly 30-year career at Union Bank, he held a broad range of other executive positions, including chief credit officer and head of commercial banking, specialized lending and wholesale banking activities.

Flynn serves on a variety of boards, including the Green Bay Packers, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Art Museum, St. Norbert College, and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce.

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Christopher J. Del Moral-Niles, CFA Christopher Del Moral-Niles joined Associated Bank in 2010 and is currently the executive vice president and chief financial officer. He has the overall responsibility for the company’s financial management. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Niles brings more than 25 years of financial services industry experience to Associated Bank, most recently in the positions of deputy chief financial officer and treasurer. Previously, he was the corporate treasurer of The First American Corporation and president of First American Trust, FSB. Before that, Niles served as senior vice president and director of liability management for Union Bank, president of UnionBanCal Commercial Funding, and asset/liability strategist of Union Bank. Prior to his time with Union Bank, Niles spent a decade as an investment banker focused on the financial services industry, working primarily on acquisitions, bank capital raising, and funding transactions for regional banks and thrifts.

Niles holds an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and studied economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1995. He resides in Green Bay and serves on the Wisconsin Bankers Association, Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Green Bay Botanical Garden boards.

Executive Vice President, Head of Private Client & Institutional Services
William M. Bohn William Bohn joined Associated Bank in 1997 and is currently the executive vice president, head of private client and institutional services. He oversees and directs the private banking, trust, investment, employee benefit and insurance lines of business for the company. Bohn serves as chairman of the board of Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting, the company’s insurance division, chairman of Associated Investment Services, Inc. and chief executive officer of Associated Trust Company. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Bohn brings more than 25 years of banking experience to Associated Bank, including senior vice president and director of legal, compliance and risk management. Previously, he served as a registered representative for a large international investment and insurance company and as an operations and compliance officer for a large national trust company.

Bohn earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School and bachelor of arts degree in economics from Marquette University. He is a Certified Risk Professional and is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. In addition, he is the chair of the board of directors of Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin as well as a member of the board of directors of New North, Inc. and Valley Kids Foundation.

Executive Vice President, Deputy Chief Audit Executive
Matthew R. Braeger Matthew R. Braeger joined Associated in 2013 and is currently the executive vice president and deputy chief audit executive. He is responsible for leadership and execution of the independent internal audit function. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Braeger has more than 17 years of auditing experience, primarily in banking technology and financial services, and most recently was the senior vice president and audit director with Associated Bank. Previously, he held audit management positions with Fiserv, Inc. and public accounting audit roles with Ernst & Young, LLP.

Braeger holds an MBA from Marquette University and a bachelor’s of business administration in accounting from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors, where he serves on the Milwaukee chapter board of governors and recently completed a term as president.

Patrick J. Derpinghaus Patrick Derpinghaus joined Associated Bank in 2011 and is currently the executive vice president and chief audit executive. He is responsible for the independent internal audit function of the company, functionally reporting directly to the audit committee of the board of directors. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Derpinghaus brings more than 35 years of experience in various audit, accounting and administrative capacities. Previously, he held the position of audit director at U.S. Bancorp, where he was responsible for leading approximately 20 audit professionals in various locations nationally. Before that, Derpinghaus served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at The Bankers Bank in Atlanta, Georgia where he was responsible for all accounting, investor relations, financial and regulatory reporting and limited operational functions. Other experience includes senior vice president and controller at UMB Financial Corporation, and chief administration officer at Mercantile Bancorporation, Inc.

Derpinghaus holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wisconsin. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Judith M. Docter Judith Docter joined Associated Bank in 1992 and is currently the executive vice president and chief human resources officer. She is responsible for all human resources functions, including succession planning, talent management, change management, recruitment, culture development, organizational and performance management, training and development, and total rewards. She also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Docter brings more than 35 years of experience in human resources, including over 25 years with Associated Bank, most recently in the position of senior vice president, director of organizational development.

Docter holds a bachelor's degree in management and communications from Concordia University, Wisconsin, and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the National Society of Human Resources. Docter is a graduate of the Kellogg Executive Management Program at Northwestern University. She is a member of The Salvation Army of Brown County's advisory board and serves on the board's executive and community relations & fund development committees.

Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Risk Officer
Randall J. Erickson Randall Erickson joined Associated Bank in 2012 and is currently executive vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary, and chief risk officer. He is responsible for the overall direction, leadership and results of the corporation's legal and government relations functions and legal regulatory affairs. This includes serving as Associated Bank's secretary and secretary to the board of directors, accountability for goals and strategies related to legal risk management and government relations, and a concentrated focus on corporate board matters and governance. As chief risk officer, he is also responsible for Corporate Compliance Services, the Financial Intelligence Department, Operational Risk Management, and Credit Risk Review. He serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Erickson brings over 30 years of leadership experience. Previously, he held the position of senior vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (M&I) until the acquisition of M&I by the Bank of Montreal in 2011. Upon leaving M&I, Erickson rejoined Godfrey & Kahn where he was a partner from 1990-2002 and worked closely with M&I during that time. He began his legal career at McDermott, Will & Emery in Chicago.

Erickson earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1984 and bachelor's degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse in 1981. He is a member of the Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota bars. Erickson currently serves on the finance committee of 88Nine Radio Milwaukee.

John P. Hankerd John P. Hankerd joined Associated Bank in 2004 and is currently the executive vice president and chief credit officer. He is responsible for the leadership and strategic execution of the company’s credit policy, reserve methodology, underwriting standards, loan quality, and overall credit administration. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Hankerd brings more than 25 years of banking experience to Associated Bank, including multiple leadership roles in commercial and corporate banking and credit functions. Previously he spent 12 years in commercial lending at U.S. Bank.

Hankered earned his bachelors of business administration in finance from the University of Notre Dame.

Executive Vice President, Vice Chairman and Chicago Market President
Breck F. Hanson Breck Hanson joined Associated Bank in 2010 and is currently the vice chairman and Chicago market president. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Hanson brings 40 years of commercial banking experience, including over 35 years within the commercial real estate segment. Most recently he held the position of executive vice president, head of commercial real estate with Associated Bank. Prior to joining Associated, he served as Midwest regional executive, commercial real estate for Bank of America, where he managed all levels of business, staff and functional areas for the Midwest commercial real estate group. Previously, Hanson was responsible for LaSalle Bank's national commercial real estate group, which served clients throughout North America. Under his leadership, LaSalle Bank's commercial real estate group grew to the sixth largest commercial real estate bank lending group in the nation at the time the company was acquired by Bank of America.

Hanson holds an MBA from Michigan State University and a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Purdue University. He is trustee chairman of Rainbows, serves on the Dean's Advisory Council of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, and on the executive committee of the board of directors of Chicago Architecture Foundation.

Nicole M. Kitowski Nicole M. Kitowski joined Associated Bank in 1992 and is currently the executive vice president and deputy chief risk officer. She is responsible for financial intelligence, corporate security, third party risk management, and operational and enterprise risk management. She also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Kitowski has 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has held leadership roles in Consumer Banking, Operations and Technology, and Corporate Risk. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Lakeland College and holds certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMP) and Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (CAMS). She also completed the Chicago Booth Executive Program in Corporate Strategy and The Risk Management Association/Wharton Advanced Risk Management Program. Lau brings nearly 30 years of banking experience to Associated Bank, most recently in a number of senior management positions in consumer and small business banking, residential lending, commercial banking, and private client and institutional services.

Lau holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. He is past chairman and current board member of the Green Bay YMCA, serves on the UW-Stevens Point Foundation, and is on the board of directors for the Brown County United Way.

Christopher C. Piotrowski Christopher C. Piotrowski joined Associated Bank in 2014 and is currently the executive vice president and chief marketing officer. He is responsible for leading strategic initiatives in marketing and brand management and is accountable for public relations, corporate communications, customer experience and corporate social responsibility efforts. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Piotrowski brings more than 15 years of experience in brand management, marketing, innovation and advertising development to Associated Bank. Previously, he held marketing positions at SC Johnson, MillerCoors, Anheuser-Busch and ConAgra Foods.

Piotrowski holds a master of science degree in economics from Marquette University and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Ripon College. He serves on the board of directors for Milwaukee Ballet and Wisconsin Bankers Association, and he is a committee member with Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin. He is also actively engaged in supporting United Way and served as Associated Bank’s 2015 United Way Corporate Campaign Chair.

James S. Payne Jr. James Payne joined Associated Bank in 2015 and is currently the executive vice president and and chief information and operations officer. He oversees the overall direction, leadership and results of the company’s information technology systems and strategies, as well as key bank operations activities. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Payne brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the management of information technology and bank operations in the financial services industry. Previously, he held the position of chief technology officer at Associated Bank and Huntington National Bank in Columbus, Ohio. Before that, he held executive technology management positions at Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase.

Payne holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Paul G. Schmidt Paul Schmidt joined Associated Bank in 2015 and is currently the executive vice president, head of commercial real estate. He oversees and directs all aspects of commercial real estate solutions including construction, interim-bridge, acquisition and term financing. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Schmidt brings more than 30 years of banking experience to Associated Bank. Previously, he was executive vice president and division manager, commercial real estate at Wells Fargo where he was responsible for establishing and managing multiple regional lending offices throughout the United States.

Schmidt holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Concordia College. In the community he serves on the boards of Autism Society of Minnesota and HopeKids Minnesota. Professionally, he is active in industry organizations including National Association of Industrial and Office Parks and International Council of Shopping Centers.

Executive Vice President, HEAD OF CONSUMER & BUSINESS BANKING
David L. Stein David Stein joined Associated Bank in 2005 and is currently the executive vice president and head of consumer & business banking. He oversees consumer and business banking activities in approximately 200 branches across Associated Bank's three-state footprint of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. Stein also leads Associated Bank’s residential lending and retail payments businesses plus the company’s efforts directed at small and mid-sized businesses. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Stein brings more than 30 years of banking experience to Associated Bank, most recently in the position of regional president for the former South Central region, which encompassed all lines of business in Madison and southwestern Wisconsin. Previously, he spent 16 years with JPMorgan Chase (formerly Bank One) in Wisconsin and at Bank One’s former headquarters in Columbus, Ohio where he held a number of progressively responsible management positions across several lines of business.

Stein holds a master’s degree in business administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Stein lives in Madison and is active in several community organizations. He was also appointed in 2014 by Governor Scott Walker as a trustee for, and now chairs, the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, which oversees management of over $100 billion in state pension funds.

John A. Utz John A. Utz joined Associated Bank in 2010 and is currently the executive vice president and head of corporate banking and Milwaukee market president. He oversees corporate banking activities, along with specialized financial services activities in select vertical markets including oil & gas, power & utilities, health care, and others. As Milwaukee market president, Utz provides overall leadership in the company’s effort to grow its full portfolio of financial products and services in the Greater Milwaukee market fueled by community-building investments and relationships. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Utz brings more than 20 years of banking experience to Associated Bank. Previously, he held the position of senior vice president, head of capital markets and president of UnionBanCal Equities in Los Angeles, California, a subsidiary UnionBanCal Corporation, where he was responsible for investment banking, merchant banking, and asset management lines of business. Previous experience at Union Bank includes head of national corporate banking and asset management.

Utz holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California. He serves on the board of directors for Milwaukee Film, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), Milwaukee Public Museum, and United Performing Arts Fund.

Previously, he was Group Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions, of BP Amoco p.l.c. from January 1999 to April 2001 and held the positions of Vice President — Financial Operations, Treasurer, Controller, and Vice President — Mergers, Acquisitions & Negotiations of Amoco Corporation, Chicago, Illinois, from 1981 until 1999.

Mr. Hutchinson also serves as an independent director and Chairman of the Audit Committees of approximately 31 closed-end mutual funds in the Legg Mason Inc. Fund Complex.

Mr. Bergstrom also serves as a director of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, WEC Energy Group, Advance Auto Parts, and the Green Bay Packers, Inc. In 2014, Mr. Bergstrom completed the National Association of Corporate Directors (“NACD”) corporate training program for Compensation Committee members and is now designated as a Master Fellow for Compensation Committee, governance and best practices.

Bernstein Fund, Inc. and the Bernstein Fund, Inc. Mr. Gerken served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Legg Mason Partners Fund Advisor, LLC from 2005 until June 2013. During that period, he was also the President and a director of the Legg Mason and Western Asset mutual funds with combined assets in excess of $100 billion. Previously, Mr. Gerken served in a similar capacity at Citigroup Asset Management Mutual Funds from 2002 to 2005. As a Chartered Financial Analyst with experience as a portfolio manager and in overseeing the preparation of financial statements, Mr. Gerken meets the requirements of an audit committee financial expert.

Ms. Greffin served as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at the Allstate Corporation, the nation’s largest publicly held personal lines insurer, from 2008-2016. Prior to this position, Ms. Greffin held several other key positions at Allstate from 1990-2008.

Ms. Greffin currently serves on the board of the Northwestern Memorial Foundation, the investment committee of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, the investment committee of the Field Museum of Natural History and is also a member of the Miami University, Ohio Business Advisory Council and the Economic Club of Chicago.

Robert A. Jeffe Robert A. Jeffe has been a director of Associated since 2011. He is Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of Hawkwood Energy, a private oil and gas company based in Denver and focused on onshore exploration and production in the U.S. Mr. Jeffe served as Chairman of the Corporate Advisory Group of Deutsche Bank from November 2004 until February 2011. Previously, Mr. Jeffe served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development for General Electric Company from December 2001 to November 2004 and as a member of GE Capital’s board of directors from January 2002 to June 2004. Mr. Jeffe has more than 34 years of investment banking experience and prior to working at Deutsche Bank, he was with Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and Smith Barney (now Citigroup) serving at all three firms as Managing Director, Head of the Global Energy and Natural Resources Group, and a member of the Investment Banking Management Committee and Global Leadership Group. At Morgan Stanley, Mr. Jeffe also was Co-Head of Global Corporate Finance.

She serves as Senior Adviser to the CEO and Board, Chief Financial Officer of ConnectWise.com, Inc. and is an adjunct professor at leading law schools and consults on corporate governance and financial strategy matters. From October 2012 until July 2013, Ms. Kamerick was Chief Financial Officer of Press Ganey Associates, a leading health care analytics and strategic advisory firm. She previously served as the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Houlihan Lokey, an international investment bank, from May 2010 to October 2012. She also served as President of the Houlihan Lokey Foundation. From August 2008 to May 2010, she served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Legal Officer of Tecta America Corporation, the largest commercial roofing company in the United States. Prior to joining Tecta America Corporation, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BearingPoint, Inc., a management and technology consulting firm from May 2008 to June 2008. BearingPoint, Inc. filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy code on February 18, 2009. Ms. Kamerick has also served as Chief Financial Officer at several leading companies including Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc.; Leo Burnett; and BP Amoco Americas.

Ms. Kamerick currently serves on the board of directors of Westell Technologies, Inc., and serves as an independent director of approximately 31 closed-end mutual funds in the Legg Mason Inc. Fund Complex. She also serves on the board of several nonprofit organizations, including Eckerd Kids, a national not for profit where she is Vice Chairman of the Board, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. Gale E. Klappa Gale E. Klappa has been a director of Associated since June 2016. He is the Non­-Executive Chairman of Milwaukee­-based WEC Energy Group, one of the nation’s premier energy companies. From May 2004, Mr. Klappa served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wisconsin Energy and We Energies. He assumed those same roles for WEC Energy Group in June 2015 when the company acquired Integrys Energy. Prior to joining Wisconsin Energy, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Southern Company in Atlanta, Georgia. Previously in his career, Mr. Klappa was Chief Strategic Officer at Southern Company, North American group president of Southern Energy Inc., and President and CEO of South Western Electricity – Southern Company’s electric distribution utility in the United Kingdom. Before his assignment in the U.K., he was Senior Vice President of Marketing for Georgia Power Company, a subsidiary of Southern Company.

Mr. Klappa is a member of the board of directors of Badger Meter Inc. and Joy Global Inc. and co-chair of the Milwaukee 7, a regional economic development initiative. Currently the vice chairman of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), he was MMAC chairman from 2007 to 2009. He also serves on the executive committee of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, the UWM School of Business Advisory Council and the board of directors of the United Performing Arts Fund.

Cory L. Nettles Cory L. Nettles has been a director of Associated since 2013. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Generation Growth Capital, Inc., a private equity fund. He is also Of Counsel at Quarles & Brady LLP. He previously served as Secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Commerce from 2002 to 2004.

Mr. Nettles serves on the boards of Weyco Group, Inc., Robert W. Baird’s Baird Funds, Inc., and several nonprofit organizations including the Medical College of Wisconsin, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Karen T. van Lith
Karen T. van Lith Karen T. van Lith has been a director of Associated since 2004. She is currently a contractor for companies requiring transformative leadership as they go through start-up, rapid growth, mergers and acquisitions or business model changes. She previously served as Chief Executive Officer and a director of MakeMusic, Inc., a publicly-traded company that develops and markets music education technology solutions, from June 2011 until June 2012. Ms. van Lith also serves as a director of E.A. Sween, a privately-held company doing business as Deli Express, since August 2012. Until June 2011, she ran an internet-marketing services company through Beckwith Crowe, LLC. Ms. van Lith was President and Chief Executive Officer of Gelco Information Network, a privately held provider of transaction and information processing systems to corporations and government agencies, based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, until its sale to Concur Technologies in October 2007. She joined Gelco in 1999 as the Chief Financial Officer of Gelco Information Network; she then served as Chief Operating Officer of the company’s Trade Management Group, a division of Gelco Information Network, and was named its President and Chief Executive Officer in 2001. Before joining Gelco, she was with Ceridian Corp. for four years serving in senior executive roles, including Senior Vice President of Business Development for Ceridian Employer Services. Ms. van Lith served as a director of XRS Corporation, a publicly traded provider of fleet operations solutions to the transportation industry from 2010 to 2014 and of CNS, a publicly traded consumer goods company, from 2003 to 2006. She was a CPA, has practiced with an international public accounting firm and has served in various executive capacities. She meets the requirements of an audit committee financial expert.

John (Jay) B. Williams
John (Jay) B. Williams John (Jay) B. Williams joined the Board of Directors in July 2011 following a 37-year career in banking. He is also past President and Chief Executive Officer of the Milwaukee Public Museum, Inc. Mr. Williams’ banking career included experience with retail, commercial, private client, operations and technology along with mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Williams is on the board of directors of Church Mutual Insurance Company, which insures over 100,000 religious institutions, Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management, a subsidiary of Northwestern Mutual, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Public Museum and Chairman of the Board of St. Norbert College.
